Animate Lancelin

Animate Lancelin!

More than meets the eye.

Junk turned into artworks representing life in Lancelin. Use the map to find the artworks around the town, and bring them to life using your smartphone or tablet.

Throughout 2022, Artist in Residence Neil Elliott worked with participants from Western Australia’s Wheatbelt coast. Starting with a collection of discarded metal and timber bits and bobs, they created collaborative artworks which reflect life in Lancelin. Rusty pressed ceiling tin, machine cogs, wire netting, bolts and screws have become energetic windsurfers, dune riders, fishermen, crabs, fish, and birds.

The artists then breathed life into this junk art through animation. You can now see these moving images in Lancelin using your smartphone or tablet.

This project continues DADAA’s commitment to improving digital literacy and inclusion for people with disability and to introduce opportunities for self-expression and creativity through digital technology.

Art trail

Artworks are installed in eight locations around the township of Lancelin. The trail loops from the historic Lancelin jetty along the foreshore and through the town centre.

Runs until Tuesday, 28 February 2023
