Appointment of new Auditor

DADAA Zine project

Zines are self-published, small-circulation magazines that allow people to share thoughts and disseminate ideas outside of the constraints of mainstream. Zines are about art for art’s sake.

The DADAA LDR (Long Distance Relationship) Zine project is a response to the growing numbers of DADAA arts workers who have expressed an interest in working with zines and artist books.

DADAA arts worker Wren Richards has facilitated a number of workshops in Fremantle and Lancelin for arts workers to look at zine culture, binding methods, art forms, and to develop a workshop delivery structure for DADAA participants.

Over the next 12 months, DADAA arts workers and participants will be developing zines in partnership with Hands on Studio in Canberra, an art program run by CatholicCare Canberra & Goulbourn for artists with disability. At the end of July, Hands On Studio arts worker and artist Nicci Haynes will visit DADAA Fremantle to give a talk about her own art practice, Hands On Studio, and zine culture. At the culmination of this exchange there will be an exhibition and zine fair.
