Residency Opportunity: Evolving Arts and Disability in Australia
In August, DADAA and Arts Access Victoria are coming together for a week-long residency focusing on the future of Arts and Disability in Australia.
We want to identify and bring current Australian Deaf and Disabled and future cultural leaders together. Do you have the skills, drive, and diligence to lead change in policy and the sector?
The residency is for 6-8 Deaf and Disabled artists, arts workers, and creatives from across the country. The residency is in Naarm/Melbourne from 7 to 11 August 2023.
Want to be part of it? Submit an Expression of Interest by 7 July 2023. See how to apply below.
Residency discussions
During the week, we will be discussing the future of Arts and Disability in Australia. These discussions will include but won’t be limited to:
• the future of Disability arts practice
• what we need as individuals to make powerful work with authentic voices
• what structural supports are needed
• learning from current Deaf and Disabled arts leaders
• what future leaders need
These will be Disability-led conversations and will be guided by what participants consider to be urgent. We will report on the results of these conversations and include recommendations for future action.
