International Day of People with Disability

30th Nov 2022

DADAA is proud to be supporting artist Dylan Madurun who has been selected to sell his work in the Marketplace at the NDS WA Lunch in celebration of International Day of People with Disability 2022. The event is being held at Crown Perth on Friday, 2 December.

Dylan Madurun is an emerging artist from Perth, who works out of DADAA Midland Studios. Dylan was the recipient of a NEXUS Arts Grant for young artists with disability in 2019, and in 2020, the Awesome Festival’s inaugural Artist in Residence.

His artwork is predominantly influenced by his favourite things, particularly the colour blue, and he has developed his own style which he describes as ‘Blue Beautiful’. This approach has resulted in unique, bold, and playful works of art.

Dylan’s arts mentor has been helping him to build his business, as part of DADAA’s increasing focus at DADAA to support artists to achieve their goals to develop micro-enterprises. By growing his business, Dylan aims to have fun and one day save enough for a Mini Cooper car! Dylan’s original artworks have been applied to bags, t-shirts, cards, and stickers, and following the Marketplace, you can visit Dylan’s online store Blue Beautiful Spectacular to purchase his merchandise.

Dylan’s work will also feature in an exhibition, Nothing About Us, Without Us presented by Mission Australia and City of Subiaco for International Day of People with Disability at Subiaco Arts Centre. The exhibition opens on Saturday 3 December and runs until 10 December.

You can find out more about the Marketplace and lunch here.
