BRINGING THE VISUAL TO LIFE THROUGH AUDIO

DADAA promotes cultural participation for people who are blind and vision-impaired through our Access All Arts program.

The program consists of access tours to exhibitions as well as audio description and assistive-listening services to live performance, festival and theatre events.

DADAA audio describes more than 20 live events at major arts events and venues each year. This is the only service in WA that offers live Audio Description services at events.

In 2019, we are delighted to be trialling new Assistive Listening technology via the Sennheiser MobileConnect app (available for iOS and Android). Using their own devices and headphones, audiences connect via our on-site WiFi system, making it extremely easy to receive this service.

WHAT KINDS OF EVENTS AND SHOWS DO WE AUDIO DESCRIBE?

We Audio Describe a big range of performances, exhibitions, even conferences, including:

  • Sculpture by the Sea
  • Fringe World Festival
  • Fremantle Street Arts Festival
  • Hit Musicals at Crown Perth and Perth Arena
  • Walking Art Tours at Curtin University
  • Exhibitions at the Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery
  • Exhibitions at other Perth galleries.

Visit our ‘What’s On?’ section to see what’s coming up!

If you would like to talk to us about using our audio-described or assistive-listening services, please get in touch on jacqueline@dadaa.org.au
