Kalyakool brings together artists who live or work in the City of Swan and are based out of DADAA’s Midland Studio, on Whadjuk Noongar country. The exhibition features a series of collaborations between Desmond Woodley and renowned artist Tjyllyungoo (Lance Chadd), large-scale and site-specific work by Mandy White, a comprehensive selection of paintings by Michael Miller, and the beta launch of John Morrison’s interactive multimedia work. DADAA and Ellenbrook Arts have worked together to ensure that these Aboriginal artists with lived experience of disability can develop and present new work to audiences, as well as have opportunities for collaborations with senior artists such as Tjyllyungoo.

Kalyakool is the Noongar word for ‘always’, in celebration of the NAIDOC theme for 2020: Always Was, Always Will Be.

Opening event | Sunday 26 July 2pm – 4pm
Exhibition runs 22 July – 9 August
