Workshops

Option 1. Make Your Own Musical Instruments and Movement workshop
Unleash your creativity and get crafty. Guided by experienced performances makers, make your own upcycled musical instrument and be part of an ensemble exploring voice, sound and movement.

Option 2. Circus Workshop
In partnership with Circus WA, this program will explore circus skills, slapstick comedy, clowning and physical theatre. Tailored to your own abilities, these workshops are guaranteed to be a whole lot of fun with something for everyone.

NDIS-registered participants are encouraged to book, with a limited number of sponsored spaces available for those who are not NDIS registered.

New Year’s Eve in the City

Ring in the new year at Yagan Square!

Yagan Square will come to life with a family friendly event that has something for everyone. Free live music including Sam Perry, children’s entertainment, street performers and stunning fireworks! An amusement zone in Yagan Square will also have a variety of rides and games.

There will also be an accessible area to view stage performances which will provide a safe space for people with disability, family and friends. Free but bookings essential. To book this area please email jacqueline@dadaa.org.au with:

  • the number of children and adults
  • the stage you wish to view (Variety or Lotterywest Family)
  • your access requirements (AD, Auslan, wheelchair user)
  • your mobile number

Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive more information about where the accessible area is. You will be able to access this area anytime between the performance times.

Variety Stage (Yagan Square):

Lotterywest Family Stage (Yagan Square):

time: 6pm – 9pm (Audio Description)

City of Perth Christmas Nativity: AUSLAN, audio described and assistive-listening event

Share in the story of Christmas, brought to life on stage with over a hundred performers, live animals and Christmas carols, in the stunning surrounds of the Supreme Court Gardens.

Pack a picnic or grab your favorite City retailer takeaway on your way down to Supreme Court Gardens.

For the comfort of all, there will be designated areas for ACROD, picnic rugs, low chairs and high chairs.

Friday 20 and Saturday 21 December

4pm: Grounds open
6:30pm – 7:20pm: Pre-show entertainment
7:30pm – 8:30pm: Main show

Keep the magic alive by visiting the Christmas Lights Trail after the show.

DADAA will offer live Audio Description services for this show, as well as Assistive Listening via the Sennheiser MobileConnect app (available for iOS and Android). Download the app and connect to the DADAA WiFi network (available at the event) with your own mobile device. Please bring your own headphones.
