LIZZY ROBINSON & HARD PRESSED!
DADAA invites artists to register their interest to participate in our first Artist in Residence program at the Fremantle Boys School: Hard Pressed with Lizzy Robinson.
Between 10 January and 4 February 2018, artist Lizzy Robinson will be at our DADAA Fremantle hub to run a series of workshops, aimed at professional artists with and without disability, in a shared environment where diversity and social inclusion rule!
Lizzy established Hard Pressed in Geraldton in 2016. Artists created large-format single artist and collaborative prints that were printed in a parking lot using a steamroller! She brings this great skill development and collaborative community project to Fremantle for the first time.
Lizzy will be running two groups:
The first group of workshops on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Monday 15 January 2018 will focus on eight large woodblocks. Lizzy will run a three-day masterclass with artists who nominate to work on a block individually, or in a small collaborative group. The blocks are very large, and in a short residency timeframe, it is advised that small groups may be the best way to complete this in time for the print day. Participants will be able to attend DADAA studio space to work independently on their blocks across the dates below as well.
Three groups of up to ten artists will have the chance to work on smaller individual woodblocks, which will be combined on Print Day to produce the Act-Belong-Commit Mega Print!
Group One: Friday 19 and Friday 26 January 2018
Group Two: Saturday 20 and Saturday 27 January 2018
Group Three: Monday 22 and Monday 29 January 2018.
31 January 2018
This is a free community event and all are invited to come along and observe these prints being printed with a steam roller.
